About RealmBuilder
Hello there! I'm the developer behind this new world-building software you've stumbled upon. I appreciate your interest, and I thought I'd take a moment to share what I've been working on and what you might expect from this project in the future.
This software is designed to be like an extensive toolbox for world-building. My goal is to equip you with tools that are simple yet extensive, giving you the freedom to create and manage your ideas as you wish.
One of the key features I'm working on is extensibility via plugins. This would allow the software to grow with your needs, letting you add more functionalities as and when you need them. I want this to be software that can evolve with your ideas, rather than confining them to a rigid framework.
I'm also planning to implement a feature that allows for linking various entities, like maps, items, characters, events, and even complex structures like family trees or timelines. The aim here is to create an interconnected web of your ideas, making your worlds feel more alive and cohesive.
I'm also thinking about light campaign management tools. It's not about heavy project management, more like a helpful sidekick for keeping track of your gaming sessions.
Sharing your creations is another aspect I want to simplify. I'm looking into ways to export your worlds - either into static websites or serving dynamically generated pages locally, and even exporting entities into virtual tabletops like FoundryVTT.
Additionally, I'm toying with the idea of packaging your creations into distributable content – imagine creating a D&D adventure and sharing it with your friends or the community with just a few clicks.
I'm also dreaming of a plugin and content marketplace. A place where users can share their own plugins and content to enhance the software even further.
The text editor is another component I'm really focusing on. I want it to be powerful and intuitive, with the capability to automatically link to entities you've created in your world.
While I'm excited about all these potential features, I want to be clear that they're on the wish list rather than a concrete roadmap. They are goals, not promises. I'm a solo developer, and I'm committed to building this software step by step, always considering what works best for you, the user.
Thanks for joining me on this journey. I can't wait to see the incredible worlds you'll create.
